Is importing a car from Japan legal and routine?
Yes. Japan-to-UK car imports follow a long-established legal process: the car is declared to HMRC through NOVA, duty and VAT are paid, and the vehicle passes UK compliance steps before it is registered with the DVLA. We handle each of those stages before handover.
How is the mileage verified?
Against the car's original Japanese auction sheet — translated, with the auction grade stated as given — and its export certificate. A Japanese import has no UK MOT history, so we never claim one; the auction sheet and export certificate are the proof documents for these cars.
What about UK registration?
We handle import compliance and registration in full: the NOVA declaration, duty and VAT, IVA testing where required, speedometer conversion, and DVLA first registration. The car is handed over UK-registered and ready for the road.
Can I choose the exact car?
Yes — that is the main way we work. You give us the brief, we find candidates at auction, and we bid only once you have approved the car. Nothing is committed without your approval, and no deposit is taken before verification.
